Be my Valentino?

No, seriously. Like, I'm properly in love. DAMN, Valentino. Etc.

The S/S 2014 Valentino collection managed to do several of the things I love to see happening in conjunction with each other; it remained true to the brand, it was beautiful but it also surprised me. The silhouettes - body skimming and enviably flattering - and the encrusted gorgeousness remain the same. But a new approach has come about. Something slightly older, earthier and vaguely ethnic. It seems a plethora of cultures served as the inspiration and what inspiration! The embroidery and workmanship is nothing short of remarkable. The colours are masterfully matched. Colour me impressed - especially by the fact that the quantity of pieces has not made for a dip in their quality. And sign me up for every single piece.

Dolce and Gabbana S/S 2013 - Campaign Shots

Exciting! I'm loving the direction Dolce & Gabbana has taken in the last few seasons - the brocade and embroidery, lace, florals, big jewellery, plaited buns. These shots make me want to go back to Italy right away and to skip straight to my summer wardrobe. Really feeling the palette and the stripes!

Peasantly surprised...

...is how I felt when I picked up this peasant blouse. I used to have an awesome one made out of this gorgeous linen-like fabric but I stupidly thought I'd never wear it again and got rid of it! Therefore I was doubly pleased with this find for a fiver! It's like a girlier version of something Isabel Marant would put out with its subtle embroidery - a summer classic!
