Be my Valentino?

No, seriously. Like, I'm properly in love. DAMN, Valentino. Etc.

The S/S 2014 Valentino collection managed to do several of the things I love to see happening in conjunction with each other; it remained true to the brand, it was beautiful but it also surprised me. The silhouettes - body skimming and enviably flattering - and the encrusted gorgeousness remain the same. But a new approach has come about. Something slightly older, earthier and vaguely ethnic. It seems a plethora of cultures served as the inspiration and what inspiration! The embroidery and workmanship is nothing short of remarkable. The colours are masterfully matched. Colour me impressed - especially by the fact that the quantity of pieces has not made for a dip in their quality. And sign me up for every single piece.

So adorable.

Say awwwwwww...It's my little bro's streetstyle. He's so adorable and stylish (but annoyingly picky). He kind of goes for a laid-back take on polished or preppy but with a little bit of edge brought in through humorous, ironic or risqué t-shirts. A fan of the skinny jean and a recent chino convert, he has a great eye for colour and coordinates a great variety of different looks despite having limited amounts of clothing (because of the whole picky thing).

Sportswear actually being worn during sport...huh?!

Randomly sunny and lovely today. Chaos of new furniture continues in the house so James and I escaped for a while to play tennis down in the ball alley. The graffiti there is some of the lamest, most ridiculous in the world. It's so embarrassing, I posed in front of only the most innocuous of it. For once I was actually playing sport while wearing a sporty outfit. I guess the universe aligns itself like that every now and again.

Look at the pretty colours!

Though it's a bit late for Dublin Pride, my inspiration today was the rainbow. Just a bit of a flirt with bold colours and simple clothes as I was completely unable to sleep last night and complicated was not on the cards for today. Around four, when the sun began to rise and the birds began to not shut the hell up, I pulled all of the bedding off my bed to add another layer of protection from the light streaming in and then lay curled up in a ball on my naked bed. Therefore, I'm a tired gal and this will be a post even more dominated by the visual aspect than normal. Ignore the lack of coherence or wit and look at the pretty colours!

Weather denial on acid.

Rain, why you so stupid, stupid? Yup, big shocker, Irish weather is being crap. The almost entirely white outfit I was wearing this morning got traded in for something practical but super-super-bright. It's summer, goddammit, and I'm gonna dress like it! And then, y'know, put a raincoat on top of that...Met Bri-Bri and Sarah D (what a Sarah-filled week!) for one of our extended tea sessions today and I realised how thoroughly my life revolves around tea...sad. I'm also on a major Frank Ocean bender which means that the booty is out and the dancing when no one is looking is totally on. His songs are just so sexy...

Jumper - Topshop - Bandage skirt - Smoove (yeah, I've never heard of it either) - Pink Docs - Tights - Dunnes (such good hosiery!) - Raincoat - Heatons - Bag - Marc by Marc Jacobs
