Super-brights

I'm not someone who's crazy on colour but when the library is kicking your ass you just feel like shoving all of the below at the rainy, moody sky and screaming "SUCK IT! Spring/Summer is on its way."

Super-brights

Un petit peu de Paris.

Just a taste of Paris at Christmas for now...including: tasteful lights and decorations, bubbles coming from Hermes, the shop itself and a fantastic umbrella, a Marc by Marc Jacobs store, Rodin's signature on the base of a sculpture in the Rodin Museum and Gardens, awesome boots and opulent interiors.

Vogue Victory and Velvet Layers.

Nineties layering was necessary for the humid but really drizzly day we were served. Daniel and I spent the day walking around Dublin in said drizzle, in out of shops and restaurants, so I needed to be able to ditch the vintage jumper when it got too warm or pull it on when the elements began to attack. The velvet Zara tee got tossed aside later on, when it became unbearably warm, leaving me just in this khaki dress. I finally managed to track down a Vogue for this month, they seem to be sold out everywhere - probably because it's only three euro. My trusty laptop escorted me in the car so I could watch anime when I was a zombie this morning and unable for human interaction, encased in its Marc by Marc Jacobs case that is wonderfully padded and has averted many a disaster when my butter fingers have come out to play. Despite the weather (and the early morning - ugh) it was a great day; Vogue victory, AMAZING lunch (as always) in the Silk Road Cafe and getting to spend time with my favourite person in the world.

Baroquing super-brights.

For a day of starting a new writing project that I'm uber-excited about, I'm wearing my new Topshop shorts and a Critical Mass jacket that my godmother bought me upon getting my Leaving Cert results. I have no idea why I don't wear it more often, it's one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe. From the Baroque-style print with putti and floral flourishes on the back, to the pure, sky-blue colour, to the beautiful buttons, to the wonderful tailoring; it's a little slice of perfection. Today was another venture in playing with super-bright colour - pairing the lime shorts with sky-blue jacket and using the navy of these Urban Outfitters top and Topshop suede and wood platforms to tone down the look. Gotta avoid clownishly bright! The final touch was one of my favourite bags - a wonderfully big leopard print affair from Marc by Marc Jacobs - Marc knows how to do tasteful animal prints!

Weather denial on acid.

Rain, why you so stupid, stupid? Yup, big shocker, Irish weather is being crap. The almost entirely white outfit I was wearing this morning got traded in for something practical but super-super-bright. It's summer, goddammit, and I'm gonna dress like it! And then, y'know, put a raincoat on top of that...Met Bri-Bri and Sarah D (what a Sarah-filled week!) for one of our extended tea sessions today and I realised how thoroughly my life revolves around tea...sad. I'm also on a major Frank Ocean bender which means that the booty is out and the dancing when no one is looking is totally on. His songs are just so sexy...

Jumper - Topshop - Bandage skirt - Smoove (yeah, I've never heard of it either) - Pink Docs - Tights - Dunnes (such good hosiery!) - Raincoat - Heatons - Bag - Marc by Marc Jacobs
