Mr Jacobs! You make me blush!

How sexulous is the A/W 2013-4 Louis Vuitton collection?

Like...damn.

I want, I want, I want. But incoherent babbling aside; I surprised. Normally, for me, surprise is a bad thing when it comes to the offerings from fashion houses. This is not so much because of change, as I love to be pleasantly surprised...but often they're not the pleasant kind. Departures often spell disasters. Jacobs' sense of sex is nothing entirely new (think even of his fronting his own fragrance campaign) but the Louis Vuitton shows of late have been tailored and boxy. Now we have a similar era as the inspiration once more but expressed differently. This isn't the formal lady of the forties, this is the sex kitten that was hiding beneath. Think screen sirens; think rolling around on top of a piano; think luxurious fabrics lying against, and slipping down, bare skin.

Enough of a mind-picture? Have some actual pictures!

And PS: Maybe the entire pj look is not quite the ticket but underwear as outwear done tastefully is always perfect.

How are bags and people alike?

Well, they come in all shapes and sizes and all are equally beautiful, of course!

I don't think I've ever focused on accessories in a post and I'm quite excited for all the bags of style, bags of bags this coming season! Rounding up the eclectic mix of bags which were highlights of the shows of the recent fashion weeks, we can see that there was a lot of choice and a lot of imagination on show. From furry clutches literally clutched against the chest like stuffed animals at Celine, to lego blocks at Chanel, to timeless bowling bags at Prada. So, here's my picks for the best bags of A/W 2013-4 - The bags I'm dreaming of and can't afford.

I glove you and other such puns.

Inspired by Prada's recent campaigns, retro glamour and the resurgence of the glove today - now that's a trend I can back! Gimme elbow length gloves, kid gloves, driving gloves, satin with little pearls...you name it! As seen on the catwalks of Burberry Prorsum, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Dsquared2, Louis Vuitton and more for A/W 2012/13, the glove is everywhere. Maybe the sharp dressing of the past is sneaking up on us once more? If so, I shall lead the campaign in burning tracksuits.

Friday the Thirteenth....

...and no real disaster befell me. Quite a nice day, in fact. Sure, I had to get up before ten in the morning (I know, I'm a lazy, terrible person) but it kinda went uphill from there. Shopped in Dublin and tramped all over the city with Mammy and my sister, had lunch out, got free money from Mammy, had cake and tea, bought more cake, helped Dad move and build furniture, had tea and cake again, scored one of Dad's old Aran jumpers, po-goed, go-carted, punned and hung out with my bro. To do all this in warmish, showery weather I went for my uber-reliable and practical Docs, a loose t-shirt dress in cream (which was lovely and airy when I got too warm), my trusty vintage cream blazer and thick-knit tights for warmth and rain protection - simplistic, functional, easy and chic and with a touch of Alexander Wang-esque sportiness.

Kawaii Five-O.

So there's uber-girliness and cuteness in this outfit but not really anything to do with Hawaii Five-O. Not a fan really. But nice and handy for puns and post titles. The Japanese influence was back today, no reason for it, I was just trying the dress over pants thing to see if I could make it work and the dress happened to be one of my most traditionally feminine (gauzy, pastel shade, bow) and the pants happened to be similarly girly (covered in little hearts) - the result is something a little more cutesy than I normally go for but, hey, I may as well give in to the cute.
