Photo post - Birthdays, Endings, Beginnings, Moments.

Adventures are great and I'll never want to stop having them but sometimes you need the quiet in-between moments where life is sweet and kind. The moments filled with family and friends and affection. Those are the things that keep you warm during dark nights, fun as those adventures might have been. Those are the moments that make your heart swell with love for the people around you, with pride for having the parents you were blessed with, with joy that you were lucky enough to stumble across the friends you have.

Last week I handed in my dissertation, marking the end of formal education (at least for now) for me after nearly two decades of it. I also turned twenty-three and had about four different celebrations of those two events with various family members and friends. I'm now able to breathe as I've one less thing on my plate and I've also got the opportunity to chase the life I want being a year older and, most certainly, wiser.

So, you're all up-to-date with my life and have a sense of how I'm feeling; relieved, overwhelmed, excited, anxious, joyous. Now, have the pictures that represent this moment, this beat in my life and the feelings entangled with it.

All of the celebrations!

So, this week I turned 22 and my birthday marked mine and my boyfriend's six-year anniversary. I also never got around to celebrating a year of the blog back in May but now seems the time to tip my hat to that and the almost 50,000 page views I have accumulated so far. It may still be the minor leagues but I appreciate every view from every one of you. Major mwah. (Salute à la How I Met Your Mother)

Celebrations a-plenty as a result!

I also have two exciting interviews coming up in the future so watch this space for more!

Plus, the Isabel Marant/H&M collection being unveiled on my birthday? Cannot merely be coincidence! Excitement! I will post some squeeing on that tomorrow. For now, please accept some photos of my birthday week.

Birthday Cake #1 (2 and 3 weren't photographed)

Presents!

Here are a sample of the awesome fashion-related presents I got this year!

I love my godmother. She's rad. Jewellery and a Topshop voucher are always fantastic gifts.

Danish jewellery design is just the best
...but, then, so too is its Irish counterpart! Killarney Crystal do some stunning vintage-inspired pieces! This one was given to me by my Mammy.
Cheeky outfit post snuck in here - including the denim jacket my sibs bought me! It's perfect! I was looking for one with a boxy shape and lighter wash.

My Real Birthday!

I've now been 21 for half an hour. Don't feel any different...

If people want to be lovely for this momentous occasion then: (a) follow me! and/or (b) send me all the clothes I've been lusting after on here! (Seriously, if that can be arranged, I won't complain)

Have my outfit of the day and celebrate what is sure to become an international holiday!

My 100th Birthday!

100 posts, that is! Wow, it's kinda crazy considering I only started this because of post-exam boredom...Anyhoo, vintage inspired clothes with more playing around with mirrors for today. I glammed it up a bit in order to celebrate x

Also, there is now a tumblr so go there for a mish-mash of my fashion world - http://wide-eyedandblind.tumblr.com/

A touch of NYC even though I can barely see...

Oh, the hayfever is bad. Very, very bad. I can barely open my eyes, they're so poofy. After getting up, ready for a day where I might even do something constructive, it hit me like a brick flung by an angry hick. Gone were any ideas of doing something and so began a Sex and the City binge. Which lead to a Carrie influence in my outfit of the day. The shoes I originally wore are much higher and much more Carrie but I had enough pain in my eyes and throat and said "Screw it" to the shoes. The dress - vintage - is kind of fifties-like and very adorable, I mixed it with elements one might not automatically match; oversize jumper, Betsey Johnson pale pink tights and an amazing, colourful bag. The all-over-the-place-ness made me think of Carrie and it was a playful outfit for smiling and the summer (despite the fact that the summer is trying to kill me). Mam took me comfort food shopping and we hit five different supermarkets. I'm not even sure what we bought...The cakes I got didn't survive to see the camera or tell their story but my pink lemonade is still hanging in there! Despite everything else, today is a good day. My pseudo-sibling, Paula, is having her 18th birthday party tonight (which is disturbing because that means my little bro and sis are nearly 18 too) and my oldest and wisest of best friends, Bev-Wev, turns 21. Celebrations of a very indoor related kind x
