What Crazy Crap is in Colette's Bag? - The experimental one.

A lot of the stuff you've probably all become accustomed to plus some Fruit-tella I've never tried before (truly juicier than the original!) as well as an eyelash curler, "Eyebrow Shapers", a hairband from Topshop, my trusty Topman beanie and a plastic bracelet from a Christmas cracker.

Beanies are standard attire for me but the hairband is part of why this collection of objects is labelled "experimental". I've a weird-shaped head so hairbands tend to slip off when I wear them. Sigh. Life is so friggin' difficult. Also, this is a somewhat striking piece - a little anime-esque. For both reasons I've worn it very little but I want to figure out how to style it right so I can wear it more. I really do like it.

The Fruit-tella were a new (and great) tastebud adventure.

And another adventure in the two euro shop saw me purchase the eyebrow shapers and eyelash curlers. The former wasn't very effective but the latter is quite good. I've heard spending more on eyelash curlers actually pays off but they were an experiment after all! So, a euro was quite enough to spend. I'm eventually gonna post a video of my first use of them - rather hilarious - but I'd been wanting to try some out for a while as I was irrationally terrified of them. Not actually so scary after all!

Yes, what an exciting group of adventures. *hangs head in shame* I'm so terribly uncool.

Back home.

Back from visiting my roomie in Cavan today. It's always weird saying goodbye over the summer because we see each other every day during the college year, so it was great to spend time with her. Now she's off to get her Lara Croft on for a bit! I'm physically sore from how much we all laughed but a great time was had by all. This is the reason the outfit posts have been so...well, non-existent but I've taken pictures so they'll be up!

The following outfit is comfy for journeying home and then trekking around shops in Dublin with Sarah D for hours with luggage. It doesn't really conform to any style or look...There's some hippy in there with the headband, there's the Aztec prints I'm so fond of, there's polka-dot tights, a preppy denim dress and gothy runners. I'm such a mess of a human being!

Messing with hue settings

Benefit's new mascara. Allowed a woman to do my whole face and then didn't buy any of the make-up because I don't really care about it...

Sonia Rykiel A/W 2012

This collection is amazing because of:

1. The knitwear.

There's an elegance about this knitwear but also something very young and modern. The two-piece cardigan is genius, a real stand-out and flash of inspiration. It allows for a classy crop style and flash of stomach but also a flattering one. The fifties-inspired two-pieces that were so big for S/S 2012 is given a cool and very modern twist. The other pieces are intensely wearable and beautifully restrained and simplistic. These are pieces to wear every day.

2. Beautifully flowy midi dresses.

Figure-fitting bodices, flowing skirts, midi-length. These dresses do the body skimming thing that is all over the catwalks for the coming season and I have to say that I'm really feeling it. The designs make me think of pared-back nymph; there is beautiful detail, and it is very feminine detail (ruffles, gathering, florals, chiffon), but there is nothing flashy about these clothes, they are quietly beautiful. I'm also way into the trousers under the dress in look four here, another big trend this season.

3. Peach tones.

With the black? So gorgeous! I'm so madly in love with that coat. It's a thing of great beauty (and my dreams). Santa? You remember the time I was hinting about the Marc Jacobs sneaker-wedges? Well, this, too, would be a lovely surprise if you're feeling generous.

4. The head-bands.

Kinda futuristic, kinda sporty. I love the wet-look, beachy, grungey hair. Totally added a cool-girl touch to the elegance of the outfits.
